Have you ever heard of cosmetic dentistry? If not, cosmetic dentistry is a branch of dentistry featuring a variety of treatments and procedures designed to improve the look of your smile. In some cases, cosmetic dentistry treatments can also repair damage to broken teeth and even replace missing teeth altogether. Listed below are a few cosmetic dentistry treatments:

Dental Veneers – Dental veneers are intended to customize the look of a tooth by covering up the fronts of your visible teeth.

Dental Crowns – Dental crowns are built to fully cap and conceal a tooth down to the gum line for added support, protection, and better aesthetics.

Dental Bridges – Dental bridges are treatments crafted to link prosthetics with natural teeth in the gaps where missing teeth lay unfilled.

Dental Implants – Dental implants are tooth prosthetics created to replace missing or lost teeth with durable prosthetics.

Teeth Whitening Treatments – Teeth whitening treatments are used to eradicate deep stains and discolorations.

Dental Bonding Treatments – Dental bonding treatments are placed on the surfaces of teeth to cap and conceal surface damage.

Dentures – Dentures can be crafted for as little as one tooth and as many as an entire row of teeth with a prosthetic that is easy to clean and is detachable.

Do you ever hesitate to smile? Are you slightly self-conscious because your smile is a little crooked, discolored, or because you’re missing teeth? If you’re suffering from any of these issues, or issues like them, cosmetic dentistry could be the solution you need.

Cosmetic dentistry is a branch of dentistry designed to improve the appearance of your smile. It includes teeth whitening, which you could consider if you’re not satisfied with the color of your pearly whites. However, if you’re interested in improving the appearance of your smile further, you could also consider veneers. These thin shells are bonded to your teeth and used to cover small imperfections such as chips, cracks, gaps, or stains.

You could also consider the benefits of dental bonding. This treatment involves using a composite material that’s matched to the color of your teeth to correct a chip or a gap. There are other options for improving the appearance of your smile, as well. Even treatments such as crowns, implants, and fillings are now designed to match and improve the appearance of your smile.

Obtaining a more dazzling smile isn’t as complicated as you might think. If you’re interested in learning more about what you can do to improve the appearance of your smile, please don’t hesitate to contact MI Roots Family Dental at 616-453-0002. Dr. Joseph Szymczak and our team will be happy to examine your mouth and offer you personalized advice. We’re eager to hear from you soon.

Are you frequently waking up to a sore jaw or to headaches? Do you suffer with sensitive teeth and earaches throughout the day? Sadly, these could all be symptoms of bruxism, which is also commonly known as teeth grinding. This can be a serious problem that should be addressed by a professional as quickly as possible.

There can be many different causes of bruxism. For example TMJD can be the cause of bruxism, because the TMJ controls your mouth’s ability to open and shut your jaw. If something is wrong with your TMJ, your teeth could grind. Other causes can include acid reflux, sleep disorders, misaligned teeth, and anxiety and stress.

While it may be difficult to assess exactly what causes bruxism, there are a few treatment options available. For instance, a common treatment from bruxism is a custom made mouthguard. However, if your bruxism is mild, treatment won’t usually be necessary. However, a dentist may also correct misaligned teeth or help you address your other issues.

While bruxism may not seem like a serious issue, it can lead to significant trouble—and can be difficult to recognize. To help you avoid these problems, we encourage you to schedule frequent checkups with our team.

If you think you may have bruxism, or are simply interested in scheduling a checkup, please don’t hesitate to contact MI Roots Family Dental at 616-453-0002. Dr. Joseph Szymczak and our team will gladly answer any questions you may have. We’re excited to hear from you!
